![]() ![]() ![]() It's so cool seeing the over-the-top team up attacks for every monster. That alone puts it miles above Pokemon for me, because all of these things also are fun gameplay elements. Riding your monsters, working together in battle, using specific monsters' abilities to help you explore, forging a bond at birth, all of that is stuff that actually makes the "monsters are your friends" premise believable in gameplay. Stories does quite a lot of things I would have expected from Pokemon at some point - not because "oooh it's the biggest cross-media franchise" but because Pokemon focuses heavily on this "monsters are your friends" premise. I played Stories 1 over the past 6 months or so and I played Pokemon since I was 8 (Red).
